It's no secret that Ayrshire is famous for two things: it's the birthplace of Scotland's favourite poet, Robert Burns, and the home of the two Open Championship Golf Courses, Royal Troon and Turnberry.

But what we do like to keep a secret is Ayrshire's rich history and its well established connection to Scotland's historic heroes – not to mention its beautiful landscape, sculpted over the ages by the westerly coastal waters.
Ayrshire is one of the few places in Scotland where you can enjoy the beautiful outdoors (cycling, walking, fishing and sailing) while at the same time escape into the country's long history (Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Dundonald Castle), or simply entertain the family with Head's of Ayr Farm Park and Pirate Pete's to name but a few. So no matter what your interests or the weather, you will find loads of amazing activities and attractions to fill your days, here in Ayrshire.
