ULTIMATE DINING EXPERIENCE
If you are looking for the ultimate dining experience, Ayrshire has two restaurants that hold a Michelin star each; Braidwood's in Dalry and Glenapp Castle in Ballantrae, both leading Ayrshire's culinary collection.
BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS
Dotted throughout Ayrshire are a number of established places to eat. If it's beautiful surroundings and a warm atmosphere you are drawn to then try one of the Costley & Costley empire - perhaps The Brig 'o Doon in Alloway, Ellisland or The Beresford in Ayr, Lochgreen House or Highgrove in Troon. Further south in Kirkoswald you will find Souter Johnnies and to the north in the village of Gatehead there is the Cochrane Inn
MODERN & CONTEMPORARY
Something more modern and contemporary, one of the Buzzworks group is for you - Scott's in Largs, Scott's or Lido in Troon, Elliot's or Dome in Prestwick or The Treehouse in Ayr. Great buzz and snappy service.
OUTSTANDING SEAFOOD
For outstanding seafood, the top place is McCallums at Troon Harbour. You can dine in this old boat shed and watch the fishing boats landing their catch and if you look closely you might just see some of the wild seals that live in the harbour. If you haven't booked you just might not get a table but, don't despair, next door is The Wee Hurrie, the best fish and chip shop in Scotland. Try it, you wont be disappointed.
SPICE IT UP
Spice it up a bit with a visit to one of two highly acclaimed Indian Restaurants in Ayrshire. Balbirs at Symington on the road towards Glasgow - fresh, light Indian food. Try the "no menu" option where they keep bringing courses of food you might not have tried before. Or The Rupee Room in Ayr where you can watch the tandoor chef at work and you will be astounded by the naan breads!
AYRSHIRE IS AMAZING FOR EATING OUT
Of course there are many more places worth a mention like Wildings in Maidens and Chu Chu's in West Kilbride or Reds in Prestwick. In fact, there are too many to mention, which is why Ayrshire is Amazing for Eating Out.
Why be stuck in a hotel on a dinner, bed & breakfast package when you have all this on offer in Ayrshire?
