Scotland’s Open Garden Scheme
Brodick Castle is a National Trust for Scotland property and is opening under the Garden Scheme on 8 July. This is a fabulous roaming garden with a huge variety of plants. Perhaps best known for its rhododendron collection, the garden is very colourful at this time of year, with lots of exotic plants and shrubs. Look out for the Highland cattle grazing nearby.
Make a weekend of it and stay in a B&B in West Kilbride or Largs. The ferry from Ardrossan takes only 1 hour
